Maybe you mustered up enough courage to open up with a trusted friend about how you feel, but you felt shut down by their well-meaning advice to “have more faith.”
Here’s a truth worth considering:
If you’re saying,”I don’t feel thankful,”
Know that you don’t have to feel thankful to be thankful.
How do I know this?
I’m all too familiar with the challenge of persevering in praise despite life’s disappointments.
LET ME SHARE A BIT OF MY STORY WITH YOU.
The hard places are where God meets us.
Inviting others into the places where our faith has become weak may make them uncomfortable, but God isn’t threatened by our doubts or disappointments
because He knows that…
In April 2011, the recession caught up to education, and, as a result, I was laid off from my job. Embarrassed and embittered by the situation, I found myself at a crossroads of choosing to live in despair or choosing to bring my disappointment to God so that He could hold me together.
A place to draw strength from one another to persevere in hard times; know we’re not alone; and have a life we enjoy even while we acknowledge and embrace that life doesn’t always go as planned.
I'm so glad you're here!
By day sixty of the second challenge, I felt a shift in mindset toward gratitude that started impacting my everyday life.
The disciplines of cultivating a thankful heart and leaning into the strength of a supportive community started me down a path of healing and personal development.
I started seeing a counselor, lost weight, and started creating more content to help others in their journey to contentment and peace in the midst of discouragement.
Inspired by a tweet, I committed to finding one thing I was grateful for 100 days straight, then I posted it online.
I knew that there was something to establishing a habit of gratitude that I needed to grasp, so I challenged myself again in 2013 after a devastating breakup.
This time with a network of friends following along with me on FaceBook, I slowly created a community around being real about life’s challenges while choosing to persevere in praise.
I love, love, love acting! I’ve been in plays, commercials, and edutainment over the years. I even got to have my book review as a child shared on Reading Rainbow🌈📗!
As a child, I would make up songs with my mom. Now I create songs inspired by my everyday life. I love teaching my originals to my students, nieces and nephews.
It took me 7 years to finish that degree!😤😂 I thought I’d never get it done! I’ve always enjoyed teaching others and sharing what I’ve learned. I love writing songs and scripts and other educational materials to teach young and old.
